Brand Planner

You Are Here (YAH) is looking for a  Brand Planner to play a key role in defining brand strategies across a variety of clients. The ideal candidate in this role has 3 - 4 years of agency experience under their belt and understands how to use research, data, intuition and insights to develop integrated strategies that meet the client’s objectives/needs. This candidate will collaborate with client teams to assist in the development of positioning and messaging strategies, as well as strategic and tactical marketing communications contact plans. Also, this position will be responsible for providing input throughout the creative development process to ensure all client deliverables are “on strategy”. This position will also monitor the success of programs to demonstrate customer value as well as to ensure that the strategy adapts to important client and market changes.


  • Identify key client business challenges, needs and pitch solutions.
  • Gain insight into target audiences and leveraging those learnings in various phases of campaign development (i.e., strategy, testing, real-time and learnings).
  • Development of brand strategies, writing creative briefs, guiding development and presentation of the creative work.
  • Conduct research (consumer, cultural, competitive, channel, etc…) to glean relevant information / insights to drive client strategies and objectives forward.
  • Ability to turn research into insights and insights into briefings.
  • Ability to identify strong and interesting strategic directions / ideas and successfully crafts frameworks around them.
  • Assist in development of brand and campaign-level strategies based on business objectives and consumer behavior.
  • Help develop strategic deliverables/outputs, including brand positioning, consumer. insights and journeys, strategic POVs, audience insights, messaging, channel roles, etc.
  • Ability to solve problems through research, insights and analytics.
  • Identify new and emerging brands, trends and best practices relevant to existing and potential clients.
  • Ability to understand and interpret business and marketing data to support proposed recommendations.


  • 3 - 4 years of relevant brand, planning or strategy experience in an agency setting.
  • An analytical, solution-oriented and conceptual thinker.
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quotative research methods, tools.
  • Experience developing integrated, cross-channel strategies.
  • Strong communication, presentation and project management skills.
  • The ability to multi-task, work independently, collaboratively and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
